Iframes like YouTube or Google Maps are widely used. They raise a simple question: how to obtain clear consent before loading the content?
The replacement principle
tarteaucitron removes the iframe or script tag and replaces it with a placeholder. This block explains data collection and provides an activation button.
Until the user explicitly activates the service, nothing is loaded.
A second decision moment
This mechanism becomes a second consent lever. A user may refuse globally, then activate a specific service when it is actually needed.
On a contact page, for example, an “activate Google Maps” button makes much more sense than an abstract banner choice.
Complementary to the banner
This does not replace the initial banner. It complements it by making consent more contextual and understandable.
